A Desert Night with Cultural Show in Jaisalmer is a complete evening experience in the Thar Desert. It usually combines a sunset camel safari, traditional Rajasthani music and dance, bonfire, dinner and, if selected, an overnight stay in a desert tent. Most experiences are arranged around Sam Sand Dunes, about an hour from Jaisalmer city.

Detailed Itinerary

3:00 PM – Pickup from Jaisalmer
Your journey starts with pickup from your hotel in Jaisalmer. Travel towards the Sam Sand Dunes by private car or another pre-arranged transfer.

4:00 PM – Arrival at Desert Camp
Reach the desert camp and receive a traditional Rajasthani welcome. Depending on the camp, welcome drinks, tea and light snacks may be served. After check-in, you can relax for a short time and enjoy the desert surroundings.

5:00 PM – Camel Safari and Sunset
Start a camel safari across the golden sand dunes. The camel ride commonly lasts around 30–45 minutes, although the exact duration depends on the selected package. Continue towards a suitable sunset point and enjoy the changing colours of the Thar Desert.

6:30 PM – Return to the Camp
Return to the camp after sunset. Take some time to freshen up and relax around the camp area.

7:00 PM – Rajasthani Cultural Show
The cultural evening begins around the campfire. You can enjoy Rajasthani folk music, Kalbeliya dance and traditional performances. Some camps may also include additional folk or fire performances. The exact program varies by camp and date.

8:30 PM – Traditional Dinner
Enjoy a buffet dinner featuring Rajasthani and Indian dishes. Typical local dishes may include dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi and ker sangri, depending on the camp menu.

9:30 PM – Bonfire and Desert Evening
After dinner, spend some peaceful time around the bonfire. On a clear night, the open desert also provides a good opportunity for stargazing.

10:00 PM – Return or Overnight Stay
If you have booked an evening-only package, leave for Jaisalmer after the cultural program and dinner. If you have booked a 1-night desert camp package, retire to your Swiss tent for the night.

Wake up early to enjoy sunrise over the dunes. The soft morning light creates a beautiful desert view.

7:30–8:00 AM – Breakfast
Enjoy breakfast at the camp before preparing for departure.
